The Veterinary Public Health Centre for Asia Pacific (VPHCAP), in collaboration with the Excellent Center of Veterinary Public Health and the OIE Collaborating Centre for Capacity Building in Veterinary Services, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, conducted the project “Safe Food Production from Farm to Table through Thai and ASEAN Ways.”

An international training on “Basic Techniques in Molecular Biology, Primer Design, Sequence Data Analysis, and Phylogenetic Tree Construction” was organized by VPHCAP and the Excellent Center of Veterinary Public Health, Chiang Mai University, in collaboration with Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Japan. The training was honored by Prof. Dr. Hisao Kurazono and Asst. Prof. Dr. Kayo Okumura from Obihiro University, together with Dr. Warangkhana Chaisowwong from Chiang Mai University, as instructors.

The Global Health Institute (GHI) – Thailand has been organized annually by the Veterinary Public Health Centre for Asia Pacific, Chiang Mai University, in collaboration with international partners since 2012, with a strong focus on the One Health approach. The 2018 program, held from 2–13 July, aimed to strengthen technical skills and foster collective action for public health, food security, and ecosystem health. Activities included a pre-conference training course, the 5th Food Safety and Zoonoses Symposium for Asia Pacific, and post-conference training courses.

MVPH students defended their theses from 30 May to 1 June 2018. The examinations were chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Patamabhorn Amavisit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirikachorn Tangkawattana, and Dr. Waraphon Phimpraphai.

VPHCAP organized a Manuscript Writing Workshop for the 7th batch MVPH students to introduce basic techniques for writing scientific journal articles. Following their research presentations and data analysis on 31 January, students were encouraged to prepare and submit manuscripts to international journals, a requirement for completing the Master’s degree.

VPHCAP organized the 2nd Workshop on Data Analysis and Data Presentation for the 7th Batch MVPH students, providing an opportunity for them to present results from their fieldwork and receive feedback and suggestions on applying appropriate statistical methods.
