The Culling Practices, Disposal Approaches and Compensation Policies for poultry Disease Control in Lower Mekong Regional Meeting was held on 20-21 July 2017 at Novotel Bangkok on Siam Square Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand. The Culling meeting was a part of the project supported by the Lower Mekong Initiative's (LMI) Health Pillar and co-organized by the Veterinary Public Health Centre for Asia Pacific (VPHCAP), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University and Center for Animal Health and Food Safety (CAHFS), College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Minnesota.

There were 15 participants from private and government sectors from 5 Lower Mekong countries; Thailand, Lao PDR, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Cambodia joining the meeting. The objective of this meeting is to meet stakeholders who involved in culling, compensation and disposal policy and share the relevant information among 5 Lower Mekong countries, as shown in the meeting schedule. This shared data will be very useful to assist countries in the region to develop strategies to reduce the impact of disease outbreaks in Southeast Asia which affects the regional economy. This work will represent the rich diversity of our region and serve as an informational network across the region which will be shared in the report and presented at the regional level in the upcoming Lower Mekong Initiative (LMI) meeting.
