The world is interconnected politically, financially, biologically and socially. It is also connected through trade, travel and commerce. All of these factors power the convergence of animal, human and environmental health. One Health is about working collaboratively across disciplines and professions because it is no longer possible to focus on any single domain of health without impacting and including others. For the above reasons, the intensive study of Global Health Institute focusing on One Health Leadership is a necessary part of the solution to help protect and save untold numbers of lives in our present and future generations. The course was designed to explore leadership in the context of ‘One Health’ including technical capacity to ensure preparedness for new and emerging public health challenges, and identify opportunities for fostering collective action for the benefit of public health, food security, animal health and ecosystem health.
Through GHI 2014, it was not only advancing enhance knowledge but also building understanding and confidence while learning from each other’s experience. Developing better understanding and experience of Health Initiative related to public health, food security, animal health and ecosystem health, especially in One Health Leadership. It is therefore important to underline that the scientific information, research works, sharing knowledge network, and workshop is a key role to play in achieving these goals.
Goal & Training Objectives
There were 52 participants who are young to mid-level university lecturer profession or a master or doctoral-level student from 6 countries: Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, USA and Thailand with 16 faculties, 26 institutes.
