On 6–7 November 2025, the Veterinary Public Health and Food Safety Centre for Asia Pacific (VPHCAP), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Chiang Mai University, took part in the WOAH side event “Alternative Educational Tools to Enhance Learning on Responsible Antimicrobial Use in the Asia-Pacific Region” in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The workshop was hosted at the University Club (UC) Hotel, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Representing VPHCAP, Asst. Prof. Dr. Duangporn Pichpol (Director) and Dr. Chalita Jainonthee contributed to discussions on practical, learner-centred approaches for AMU education. The team shared findings from a recent needs survey and presented updates to VPHCAP’s AMR/AMU e-learning submodules, highlighting interactive formats (e.g., scenario-based micro-lessons, job-aids, and short assessment loops) designed to improve engagement and knowledge retention among diverse professional audiences.
Key takeaways included:
-
The value of modular, reusable learning objects that programs can adapt to local contexts.
-
The importance of simple analytics (e.g., completion and quiz data) to refine content iteratively.
-
Opportunities to align training with regional AMR priorities through shared resources and co-development.
VPHCAP appreciates WOAH and partners for convening this collaborative platform and looks forward to continued contributions to effective AMU education in the region.
