🌟 Call for Entries — Comics Competition: Promote GEDSI in the Veterinary Sector
The WOAH (World Organisation for Animal Health), together with FAVA, AAVS and IVSA are excited to launch a comics competition to promote Gender Equality, Disability & Social Inclusion (GEDSI) in the veterinary sector across the Asia-Pacific region.
Whether you draw professionally or it’s your first comic — this is your chance to contribute a meaningful story!
📘 What It’s About
-
Participants create an original comic story depicting the journey or adventures of a veterinarian over their career.
-
The story can be realistic or fictional, and may cover anything from veterinary school to retirement. It can be set in any veterinary context — farms, clinics, labs, academia, public/private sector, research organizations, international organizations, etc.
-
The narrative must include messaging that promotes GEDSI (gender equality, disability inclusion, social inclusion) — directly or indirectly.
-
The story must take place somewhere in the Asia Pacific region.
-
Characters and plot must be original, not referencing existing comics/characters/works.
-
Subtle nods (e.g. logos or general references) to WOAH, FAVA, AAVS, IVSA or funders (e.g. Australia DFAT) are allowed/encouraged — but do not use real individual names
📄 Format & Submission Requirements
